Henrico Homecoming 2007
Some candid shots of some pretty cool teenagers living the “good life.” Everybody’s all dressed up with somewhere to go. It’s Henrico Homecoming 2007…it doesn’t get much better than this.

Thanks to Mrs. L. Draper, Kendall Clark treated the Freshmen to an awesome one-hour presentation on the subject of High School success. Clark, sponsored by Tutor.com, Shell, FastWeb, Internet Broadcasting Company and My College Options captured the attention of his audience with practical advise, insight and scenarios about the importance of setting and attaining high academic goals in the first year of high school. I’ve seen many speakers address young people but few who could speak to the hearts of them the way Mr. Clark did on Thursday. For those of you who could not witness it firsthand, I wish I could upload footage of the entire presentation but of course, I cannot. You don’t have to take my word for how effective Making High School Count was though, take a glimpse of it yourself.

This weeks W.I.R.E. includes news you can use on Freshman Back to School Night, The First Pep Rally of the Year, Friday Night Lights and Freshman Focus Session #1. Continue Reading »
Of the droves of Freshman students and parents who came out for fee night on Tuesday, it’s difficult to discern which group was more nervous and confused. Some were visibly anxious about the experience, some were tense and then others still were just plain SCARED. I assure you, whether student or parent, these emotions are to be expected. In fact, as strange as I may seem for saying so…I welcome that strange reaction. I’ll tell you why. Continue Reading »
If the activity on Henrico High School’s campus yesterday was any indication of the 10 months to follow, we are in for one fantastic school year! An enthusiastic crowd of rising Freshmen, siblings and parents made their way to 302 Azalea Avenue to discover what awaits them in the coming weeks. To accommodate the anticipated enrollment of about 700 ninth graders, two half-day sessions were held to orient the newest warriors into Henrico High School’s dynamic academic climate. The theme of this year’s Freshman Orientation was “First Day of High School, First Day of College.” Continue Reading »
